Foresight
MFV Foresight a 1938 Herd and Mackenzie was built to fish but due to the war
was requisitioned by the Admiralty and served with coastal defence
throughout the hostilities. She is quite well known on the East Coast and
came to HMS Ltd about ten years ago. During which time we have fitted a new
keel and oarboards, re-caulked her hull, rebuilt the wheelhouse and dog
house, rewired her and more recently refitted her internally, replaced the
aft deck and coach roof, fitted new bulwarks, built new heads and shower,
rebuilt her galley, fitted a 10kw Genset, a watermaker and much, much more.
She is now a very comfortable, live aboard vessel with a range of about 1200
miles.

The photographs below show the sheathing and laminating over of her decks.
The galvanised box sections were bolted to the new deck and then new bulwarks and capping rail plus stanchions fitted thus removing the problem of water weeping down the old timber stanchions.
