Harbour Marine Services Limited is run by John Buckley. Boats are John’s enthusiasm. When he is not working on boats he is frequently sailing them. He and his yard are very well placed to effect repairs and improvements on boats. John likes to discuss and advise the customer so as to identify the most effective way to repair and improve their boat.

John established the company on Blackshore in 1988. The company, which employs around15 experienced and skilled staff, offers the following range of services to:

Classic and modern boats:

General repairs to GRP fibreglass, wood, steel and ferro cement hulls, teak decks, masts etc.
Boat modifications in association with designers as required
Standing and running rigging repairs
Engine installation, servicing and repairs for most engine makes
Electrical repairs and installations including complete rewires
Electronics supplies and installations radar, chart plotters, instruments, echo sounders, navtex, radios etc.
Systems repairs and improvements, pumps, water systems, air conditioning
Hard standing at competitive rates with a 30 tonne boat hoist and general wintering services
Delivery of vessels to and from Southwold as required
50 meters of pontoon mooring space with water, electricity and WiFi
Chandlery with a wide range of equipment, literature and clothing

The company has a broad range of loyal longstanding custom but we welcome one off projects and new customers. We like to make sure that the boat is ready when required. Our very busy season is springtime, if you can discuss and detail your requirements in the autumn this helps us plan our work and carry it out in autumn/winter, in good time for the sailing season.

We are happy to discuss and advise you on proposed work free of charge. We also allow people to work on their own boats in the yard. We look forward to hearing from you.
